We fight for children to belong and parents to find support—so families stay together and generations remain whole.

Too many families navigating crisis feel alone, questioning who is truly on their side.

That’s where we step in. We don’t replace families—we fight to keep them safely together. Through hands-on advocacy, practical tools, and the support of local churches, we walk with parents through complex systems and help families rebuild stability, healing, and hope for the future.

Our Heart for Family Preservation

For the Good began with a simple conviction: children deserve belonging, families deserve support, and no relationship is beyond fighting for.

We’ve seen what happens when the right care shows up at the right moment—a child stays with their sibling, a parent finds the tools and hope to rebuild, and a family discovers they’re not alone after all. Through advocacy, practical help, and the local church, we help turn crisis into restoration.

Family Advocacy & Preservation

When families face child welfare systems, it can feel confusing, overwhelming, and isolating. We step in with one-on-one advocacy—helping parents understand their options, navigate complex systems, and make their voices heard. From crisis intervention to reunification support, we fight to prevent unnecessary separation and help families move toward stability and restoration.

Caregiver & Family Support

Caring for a child in crisis takes courage—and no one should have to do it alone. We support parents, kinship caregivers, and foster families with practical guidance, trauma-informed education, and relational mentorship. From navigating requirements to building stability at home, we help caregivers gain the tools, confidence, and support needed to help children heal and thrive.

Families were never meant to face hardship alone. We equip churches, professionals, and community partners to step in with compassion and practical care. Through training, partnerships, and awareness initiatives, we help communities become a network of support—ready to advocate, walk alongside families, and create lasting pathways to belonging and restoration.

Stories of Restoration

What is Foster Care Actually Like?

Fifteen.

That’s how many children came through our home in 4.5 years. Not all at once, not all for long, but each one long enough to leave fingerprints on our hearts and echoes in our hallways.

“Will You Come with Me?”

She was nineteen. Still more girl than woman in so many ways. She sat across from me, her baby just down the hall, and tried to look steady. “I have to go,” she said, her voice barely above a whisper. “To AA. The judge ordered it.”

She Just Needed Someone to Believe

She was watching me. We were in an icebreaker meeting and I didn’t notice it at first. I just felt it in that quiet way you feel eyes on you. Her little girl was fussing, that restless, on-the-edge kind of cry that could tip into a full meltdown any second.

What makes For the Good different from other welfare programs in Austin, TX?

We stand out with our Christ-centered parenting ministry that help heal hearts, deep integration with local churches to mobilize congregations as active partners in restoration, and a Texas-focused approach emphasizing long-term redemption over short-term fixes. We’re a faith-bridging movement, leveraging the power of the local church for sustainable change.
